Design

After the massive fail of Galaxy S7, Samsung have learned something from their Failure. They came up with the best-looking design I have ever seen. It is so immersive, it seems like holding a screen. YES, Samsung Galaxy S8 looks futuristic. It is being brought back from the future. Samsung came up with the Bezel-less display, which they call Infinity display. They have removed the legendary rounded home button from the bottom. It has an edge-to-edge display. Well, it seems that upcoming all Samsung mobile phones would be having edge display.

It looks, Samsung worked harder on design. It’s Minimalistic, glass Curved on both sides gives a rich look. A volume rocker on the left-hand side, they have added dedicated Samsung Bixby Assistant button below Volume rocker, which is quite annoying while using it. The power button is on the right-hand side of the phone, all alone and it’s great. Camera style is similar to the Samsung’s earlier versions, except they removed camera bump from the back which makes the back flat. Finger-print sensor is on the rare side next to the Camera which makes really annoying to use.

Overall Samsung Galaxy S8’s design, it’s just Premium, from start to finish.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy S8 has the most stunning display around. It has been proven by Displaymate, but you can feel as you pick the phone, how amazing the display is. Thanks to Samsung’s usage of AMOLED tech once again this year. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have the same resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels and Galaxy S8 has 570 PPI(Pixels Per Inch) well Galaxy S8+ has 529 PPI(Pixels Per Inch). The Galaxy S8 has a 5.8-inch display a and Galaxy S8+ has a 6.2-inch display, both phones have AMOLED panel which looks amazing.

The colors are rich, the black and white contrast is pretty neat and clean and everything on screen is super sharp. Movies on Galaxy S8 and S8+ looks amazing. It gives a feeling of holding an almost Bezel-less screen while using the Camera. It seems like we are looking out of a window. Some apps haven’t yet optimized with a new aspect ratio of 18.5:9, so some apps show what we call Pillar Boxing or Black Bars on top and bottom which is bit sad. While playing a video, the expand button feature adjusts the display according to the new aspect ratio. The drawback with this feature is that the edges of the video gets cropped because of the new aspect ratio used by Samsung S8 and S8+ (this is the case while holding mobile in landscape.)

Battery

The biggest concern about smartphones is its Battery life. We all know how Samsung S7 and S7 edge threatened our lives because of battery explosion. Samsung Galaxy S8 has 3,000mAh and Galaxy S8+ has 3,500mAh battery comes up with quick charge and wireless charging on both devices. When it comes to battery life, Galaxy S8 works well in mid resolution settings i.e. FHD+, 1,080 x 2,220. On this settings, it lasts almost a whole day with mid usage. When it is switched to native settings i.e. WQHD+, 1,440 x 2,960, It barely lasts till sunset. However, according to me, it depends on how we use. Heavy usage users have to face some serious issues as it lasts not much as compared to Galaxy S7, these users must carry travel adapters with them. Mid usage users don’t need to worry much because it works well.

Camera

Galaxy S8 and S8+ have same cameras, 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture. It includes autofocus, phase detection, OIS(Optical Image Stabilization) and LED flash, and 8-megapixel front camera with f/1.7 aperture it includes autofocus as well. Have you noticed anything? NO, then let me tell you the camera of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ is same as Galaxy S7. There’s nothing bad in it, S7 has a better camera you could buy in 2016. Galaxy S8 continues that, it is capable of taking very good images in low and good lighting as well. It focuses and captures images amazingly fast, it is able to handle tricky exposure well.

Performance

You’d expect the new Samsung flagship to have the fastest and advanced internal components available, and that’s definitely the case here. Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are lightning fast because of their internal chipset which works pretty well. S8 and S8+ equipped with Samsung’s own Exynos 8895 Octa-core CPU (Central Processing Unit),

also equipped with Adreno 540 GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) and 4GB of RAM in S8. Internal storage of 64GB in each handset. S8 and S8+ are single Nano sim model. There’s one more slot for expandable memory up to 256GB.

So how does Samsung S8 perform? You won’t be surprised to know that it is super-fast to use and it tops in all the benchmark as well. It’s not only fast in performance, the Graphics has a similar story. Gaming experience in S8 is amazing.

1. It has a stunning display and the screen’s immersive experience feels mesmerizing.
2. Sleekest Design. It has a sleek design and it feels good while holding, it looks Futuristic!
3. The Camera provides an excellent picture quality and works well in low light too.
4. It has pretty good Battery life.
5. No doubt, S8 is a masterpiece when it comes to Performance
6. The Iris Scanner is pretty fast than before.
7. Last but not the least, the biggest pros is that ‘Samsung has removed Legendary Home Button’
1. Finger Print scanner moved to back and next to the camera, Annoying.
2. Not every application is optimized to new aspect ratio.
3. Bixby remains in beta, the dedicated button below volume rocker, Irritating.
4. Iris scanner needs to hold at a right angle to unlock.
5. No doubt, S8 is a masterpiece when it comes to Performance
6. The Curved glass on both sides means the risk of breaking it is increased by 2x.
